Soooo, you may find yourself with something new and shiny on your left hand this season and let me be one of the first to say congratulations! Engagement is such a sweet, short, and special time in a couple’s relationship. I am a firm believer that it should be celebrated over and over! I’m sharing a few of my favorite ways to highlight your engagement ring (and even a few wedding details, below) because years later you may misplace the invitation you saved, or forgotten the perfume you wore.
I absolutely love capturing these details for my couples and think it’s such an important step in telling the story of your wedding day, and the story of your love!
I like to incorporate your ring on your invitation, it ties the story of your day together! I also love photographing your perfume, I always bring a styling board and ribbons to every wedding day, that way I can highlight your color palette and bring everything together!
Wedding day florals are money, honey (said in my best Lady Gaga voice :-)) and I’ll be sure to document them heavily. I loved this wild and colorful bridesmaids bouquet! Your engagement ring will also get lots of love at your engagement session! I love to incorporate the feeling of our time together into this detail shot, so no matter where we are (downtown, a field of sunflowers, or the desert) I’ll be sure to capture it!
Something blue! This is the detail many of my brides choose to forgo, and I totally get it, sometimes blue isn’t in your color palette, and sometimes you just have way too many other details and todos to check off the list! I do love capturing these as they are usually unique to the couple and often an heirloom.
Lastly, I love to tie all of your details into one photograph! This invitation suite from Paige Poppe is incredible, she is a local wedding stationary and watercolor artist and her work is amazing!
