A blog series for busy brides : Mattie with Lola Lee

In my next post in A Blog Series for Busy Brides I want to introduce you all to my sweet friend Mattie with Lola Lee Invitations. When I first met Mattie she was quick to say hello and had the friendliest smile! Mattie is an inspiration to me as a creative working mother, she has three boys and is also a fitness superstar! I’m not so sure how she juggles it all, but she does so with grace and creativity and kindness! Here’s what Mattie had to share.

1) Tell us a little about yourself!

I’m a mom of three boys, have been married to my husband for 10 years, and have lived in Phoenix most of my life. In my spare time I enjoy working out, drinking too much coffee, and trying out new restaurants.

2) What do you love most about what you do?

I started Lola Lee Invitations almost three years ago and love being able to play a role in my couples’ weddings! I love that stationery is one of the few parts of the wedding day that can be kept as a keepsake for years to come. Since each couple is unique, each invitation has it’s own personality to reflect that couples’ story. I especially love when I get to see my couples open their wedding stationery and finally see it in person after months of planning/designing!

3) What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a couple planning their perfect wedding day (specifically pertaining to your industry)?

Find a designer that you trust. This will make the process so much easier! Stationers can be extremely helpful to you by guiding you with paper selections & printing methods to keep you withing budget. We offer guidance for wording and proper etiquette. You’ll be communicating often with your stationer, so you want to be sure that you trust their opinion and that they’ll create something beautiful for you too.

4) If there were one thing you could change within your industry, what would it be and why?

I think people often have the misperception that invitations are something that are just thrown away or maybe lack value compared to other aspects of a wedding. However, stationery is the first glimpse that your guests will have to your wedding day. What kind of impression do you want to set for them? Guests are more likely to keep something unique and beaitfully hand crafted!

Thank you so much for reading a little bit about one of my favorite wedding day friendors! Next up is the incredible Jackie with Wild One Events!
