I’m Lauren and I visually tell love stories here in Florida. I believe in authentic, joyful, and timeless images.
I can typically be found in the kitchen, either frying a piece of chicken, willing a picky toddler to eat her veggies, or making a giant french press, for one, please!
In my final post in A Blog Series for Busy Brides I want to introduce you all to my friend Jackie with Wild One Events. Two seconds after meeting Jackie you’ll know you are in the best hands. Jackie instantly makes you feel welcomed with her warm and witty presence. If I were getting married today I’d want a planner who was equally organized and calm, that’s Jackie! She’s the best.
1) Tell us a little about yourself! My name is Jackie and I’m the owner of Wild One Events – a wedding planning company that specialized in planning and designing outdoor weddings for our amazing couples! I’m married to my college sweet-heart and together we have two little boys who constantly keep us on our toes. Prior to starting my own business I was an elementary school teacher, but began Wild One Events a few years after planning our own wedding and haven’t looked back since.
2) What do you love most about what you do? So. Many. Things! But I truly love helping couples who are getting married in logistically challenging situations such as on private property, in non-traditional venue spaces, or at an at-home wedding. These types of weddings really have my heart and I love helping couples navigate the many logistics that come along with them. I also love taking a blank canvas and turning it into something special for my clients. Often times when couples are looking to host their wedding in this type of space it is because there is some kind of sentimental meaning behind it, which makes the day that much more meaningful and special for them!
3) What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a couple planning their perfect wedding day (specifically pertaining to your industry)? Everyone is on a different timeline when it comes to planning their wedding. Some couples need or want to get married quickly while others would prefer a longer engagement, but regardless of what your timeline looks like just be sure to enjoy it together. I personally think your engagement is one of the most exciting chapters in your life and I hate to see couples not relish in that time together. So carve out some time to focus on things other than wedding plans and enjoy one another, it will be worth it.
4) If there were one thing you could change within your industry, what would it be and why? Call me biased, but I really wish I saw more couples getting married outside of the traditional venue. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of venues I have worked at and absolutely love! But I want couples to know that they don’t have to do exactly what everyone else does when it comes to crafting their wedding. There’s no right or wrong way to plan your special day, so if you want to host it someplace unique don’t be afraid to go against the norm and do just that.
Jackie’s interview concludes my bridal blog series on some of my favorite Phoenix, Arizona wedding day vendors! These women are all friends who inspire me and I’m truly in awe of their work ethic and art! I hope to grow this series in the future, thank you so much for reading along! <3
