Reina & Zach picked the perfect location for their Desert Lake Film Engagement Session! I’ve always wanted to photograph a happy couple in love in this spot, and that dream came true when Reina and I brainstormed locations from The Valley to Sedona and “settled” on this spot. Although this dreamy location is in no way settling!
Zach and Reina were naturals in front of my camera and came all the way from Flagstaff for their engagement session by the lake. We started off near this big beautiful rock and made our way to the water and then up a short hike to a spot overlooking the water’s edge. My friend Sara came along to assist on this session and we left gushing over how pretty Arizona truly is. Breathtaking.
I brought along Sara for a riding buddy, okay that’s partially true! Sara helped me load film (she’s a master and super fast). Reina and Zach were so kind and sweet as I alternated between photographing them digitally and on film. These are all Fuji 400h film stock shot on a borrowed Pentax645. These sealed the deal and I purchased my own Pentax two weeks ago! Film is so beautiful and I am smitten. It’s wonderful having something new and exciting after photographing couples for over five years. Now I get to learn and play with film and it has been a fun ride thus far!
I can’t wait to get these two sweethearts behind my lens again this Fall! For now, here are my favorites from their engagement session below, fair warning, there are quite a number of favs!
These below are all film!
